AB 1726: A California Case Study on Disaggregating Public Health Data by Race and Ethnicity a new policy brief that presents key challenges to implementing California Assembly Bill 1726, which passed in 2016 and requires the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to break down broad demographic data it collects into more specific Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) subgroups.

Data to Action: A Data and Policy Brief About Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders in Orange County, California a new policy brief by Orange County Asian Pacific Islander Taskforce that highlights Orange County’s Asian, NHPI, and MENA populations are growing rapidly, with significant demographic shifts and disparities in health, civic engagement, and representation. Data disaggregation, community involvement, culturally sensitive services, and equitable resource allocation are essential. Recommendations include improving data collection, fostering partnerships, and increasing civic participation to address disparities and ensure inclusive policymaking.
